If a non-German national wishes to immigrate to Germany because of a spouse, they will need to prove a basic knowledge of German. Start 1 is a German language test designed to assess adults' knowledge of German. It corresponds to the level of A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. The German start-1 examination consists of listening, reading, writing and oral expression sections. In 160 units (two months), we prepare you specifically for this exam. We concentrate on the vocabulary and grammatical structures that learners need for this examination. With the aid of sample exam papers we teach advanced exam strategy. For participants who have learning difficulties, we are as always and whole-heartedly ready to help. For general questions about culture and life in the Federal Republic of Germany, we always have an open ear and usually also an answer.
